We used a Shaker white painted cabinet door for the perimeter of his kitchen, and a light gray painted shaker door for the island. The pendent lights evenly divided above the Island add a contemporary feel, we used a quartz counter top that has dark vains that contrast with the cabinet colors. The subway white back splash style give the space a more traditional feel. The spacious Island provides room for the undercounter microwave, and an area for seating. The back wall was tall pantries and a counter and wall cabinet area. The crown molding is more traditional, yet the door is a simple shaker style. When we combine different design styles, we are in essence creating a transitional design look.
