When it comes to deciding what type of cabinets you need, there are a few factors to consider that will make the selection easier. We are not talking about the look of the cabinet doors, or the wood or paint color; we’re talking about how the cabinets are built; this is referred to as the construction type. Below we have a description of each type available, and they’re listed from least expensive to most expensive.
- RTA (Ready to assemble) These cabinets are usually framed, a popular frameless RTA cabinet line is IKEA, which has particle board boxes; even within this type of cabinets, you can find RTA cabinets that are made with plywood construction and made in the US. Our North Point cabinet line is manufactured in North America and shipped within a week from order placement.
- Semi-Custom Frameless and Framed. These cabinet lines offer some modifications compared to fully customizable lines. You can reduce depths, widths, and heights. The entry level semi-custom cabinet manufacturers offer versatility and a lot more choices compared to the RTA lines. This is the perfect product for the savvy homeowner who wants to economize on their cabinet expense without sacrificing style.
